Senators, Selfies and Salt Marshes

Saturday was a busy day – as usual – with five back-to-back assignments. But it didn’t feel too rushed like a busy day sometimes can, I think because I was enjoying myself so much.

I started out the day walking through a salt marsh with a view of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. After that it was a bike giveaway for local children, which unfortunately I got to just as it was ending. That was followed by tryouts for USA Football, and the combination of the blue sky with the bright uniforms and green grass was perfect. Then it was down to Bayonne for a campaigning event at a local senior residence with US Senator Cory Booker and Mayor Mark Smith. I arrived just before the Senator, and was happy with a few of the frames I made – especially one of him taking a selfie with a tech-savy 80-year-old resident. The day wrapped up with the appointment of a new priest to a local parish.
